He always put the pet first. Even before his health. When I found Buddy Dr. Coats said he would fix him up and give him to his father in law. Well, after I left Dr Coats had a heart attack. 5 days later they called me and said I needed to come get Buddy and what had happened to Dr Coats. There was no charge. Dr Coats recovered and came back to work. Later my other cat Lil' Kitty and Dr Coats were both told they had cancer the same day. Dr Coats had advised me to take her to NC State Vet school. He had an appointment with Duke. I lost Lil'Kitty 5 years ago. Dr. Coats is at home. The doctors says there is nothing else they can do. But he worked as long as he could because he loved it. He has been with me through two other deaths of my animals. He prayed with me and comforted me and my pets. The world is losing a great man. I hope his Hospital will be able to run for many years in his honor with the help of Dr. Morgan Ferrell. He worked with me with another cat who had FIV. He researched and found what could be done so that she could live for 5 years. Most put them down. I couldn't do that to a baby. This is a great place and I hope I never have to go anywhere else.
